What we want is to see the child in pursuit of knowledge, and not knowledge in pursuit of the child. ~George Bernard Shaw
Breakfast at the Beach
Ok, maybe not quite as glamorous as breakfast at Tiffany’s, but around here, it is the best way to start the day. It started a few weeks ago when friends asked us if we would like to go to the beach for breakfast. It was brilliant. We arrived early, played for a few hours, and then as the heat of the day (and the crowds) set in, we left. It was so brilliant in fact, that we have been back quite a few times.
This past week, we were there especially early and were the first people on the beach. I made cinnamon rolls the night before and baked them that morning. We had local berries and fresh pineapple. It was really quite civilized. After breakfast, we took a walk on the combed sand, chased seagulls, and collected treasures. I think this may be the best new thing we have done in a long time.
Here’s to good mornings!!

I am Jennifer. I am a wife and stay at home mother to two little boys. We are a homeschooling, co sleeping, nature loving bunch and I hope you enjoy reading about our adventures.

What a fabulous idea!! We are so doing this next week, thanks!
Wonderful idea! When we first
Wonderful idea! When we first got to Houston, we didn't have a table inside, but we had one on our deck. We ate breakfast out there every day (until we got hit with two weeks of non-stop pouring rain). The boys would head straight to the swingset they finished eating or out into the yard to do some exploring. We all felt so present and at peace. I don't know why we don't do it every day.
Breakfast on the beach, what
Breakfast on the beach, what a great idea! We don't have a beach nearby, but breakfast in the park would be a very nice way to start a hot summer's day!
