What we want is to see the child in pursuit of knowledge, and not knowledge in pursuit of the child. ~George Bernard Shaw

{this moment} - A Friday ritual. A single photo - no words - capturing a moment from the week. A simple, special, extraordinary moment. A moment I want to pause, savor and remember.

That looks like a great project. (Can you share the details?) Have a good weekend!

It was simple simple. Baking soda in a pan, a glass filled with coloured vinegar and an eye dropper. They played at "making volcanos" for almost an hour.  Then we dumped it in the drains, added more vinegar and cleaned the drains in the sink as well!! Multi tasking at its best :)

Looks like they are up to something fun!
Our moment comes from a fun filled game last week. A friend of ours is moving and sent us a few things that her children were done playing with, one of which is a sweet game called Herd the Sheep. The girls loved it instantly. Needless to say, Emma totally thought she had this game in the bag until Grace came up from behind to win it. The looks on their faces say it all!

Have a wonderful weekend!

Baking soda and vinegar?  Totally unrealted.. I am taking the Whole Foods Kitchen course with my mom, and saw you are too!
Here is our perfect fall moment: http://likemamalikedaughter.blogspot.com/2012/10/this-moment-friday-ritual-inspired-by.html

Such concentration!
It's really great if you add a few drops of dish detergent to the vinegar --lots of bubbles!
Our moment for the week is also up on the blog: 2momstobe.blogspot.com

What a great way to amuse the children.  I will have to do this with my kids.  Thanks for the great idea.  Jacinta

Very interesting.  I'd be interested to know what they are creating there.  Have a great weekend!

Now I have to go in seach of a couple droppers... I bet we could have a good time with the squirters they use in the tub (and clean them at the same time.)  What a great activity.
Happy weekend!

I saw your description of the projet up above.  It sounds great!  I love to clean the drains that way too by the way.

Thank you for stopping  by my moment earlier!

Ah science, certainly a favorite around here! Have a lovely weekend.

How fun! My boys love doing this type of thing too. Here is our moment: http://www.mymotheringmadness.com/2012/10/05/this-moment-10/

A lot of fun can be had with baking soda and vinegar :) Enjoy your weekend.

So fun!

Such concentration! We are really striving for this. But I'm not sure how to help her get there! Have a great week!

Not sure I really "helped" them, but they learn by imitation, so I am always mindful to really focus on my handwork and give my full attention to projects we are doing.
